Trash & Recycling

Trash and recycling collection days are:

Trash: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday

Recycling: Monday and Thursday

Collection will not take place on the following Holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If one of these holidays falls on a scheduled pick up day, then that day is skipped and collection will take place on the next business day that the land fill is open.

Please remember that there are two types of bins to dispose of trash and recyclables. Read our recycling notice for more information.

Read this overview on how to use our trash corrals to dispose of trash and recyclables.

Montgomery County residents should dispose of bulk trash (usually at no charge) at the Solid Waste Transfer Station. The Transfer Station is open Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and loads of trash under 500 pounds can be disposed of at no charge.

The use of trash corals is for condominium residents only. Any resident who witnesses the illegal dumping of trash is strongly encouraged to report this incident to both the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection and the condominium.

If you observe an act of illegal dumping, you can do something to help. Please record:

  • the tag number of the vehicle

  • a description of the vehicle and person(s) involved

  • the date and time of the incident

  • the exact location where the dumping occurred.

Use this important information to call the Illegal Dumping Hotline: 240-777-DUMP (3867). A DEP investigator will return your call no later than the next business day.
